Comal County is a county located on the Edwards Plateau in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 161,501. Comal County lies in the Texas German belt region, an area settled by German settlers in the 1800s, many cities and towns have German names, and many residents are descendents of the settlers.
